Have On Hand: Stuffed Animals, Dolls or Puppets, Sheet (optional)
Boredom Buster Description: Who says you need a collection of puppets and a fancy theater to create a memorable show? Gather up all the stuffed animals, dolls and puppets in the house, then throw a sheet over a chair or table for a theater. Or set up in back of a couch or upholstered chair. Let little ones reenact stories they know or make up their own for some spontaneous creativity. Older kids can write scripts, assign roles, create playbills and even set up simple concessions. Just make sure you're ready with the most important ingredient of all - an enthusiastic audience.
And if they're too young to follow a 'script' just put on some fun dance music and let them have the animal puppets 'dance' together. My kids loved it when the dancers would go so fast and get so excited that they would flip into the air above the stage!
ReplyDeleteOoh - great idea! My kids used to do puppet shows to music. And sometimes the puppets would end up flying into the audience. What fun!!
